[00:00:00] Speaker A: Today on Super Normalized, I speak with Cindy Sia Anderson, a pro coach, certified life coach, keynote speaker, author, and founder of SoulPiphony. Cindy calls herself a mad spiritual scientist because she approaches intuition and spiritual communication with curiosity, healthy skepticism, and a desire to test what works. Her signature system, your spirit guide on speed dial, offers a practical way to connect with personal guidance. Without blind faith, complicated rituals, or years of study, Cindy shares how direct spiritual communication can support purpose, decision making, healing, leadership, and major life changes. Stay with us to hear how Cindy developed her method, how people can assess their own experiences, and why spiritual guidance can be both meaningful and evidence minded. Keep listening for practical questions you can ask yourself when seeking clarity, purpose, and a strong connection to your inner wisdom. Welcome to Super Normalized Cindy Anderson.
[00:00:59] Speaker B: Thanks for having me, cj.
[00:01:00] Speaker A: Yeah, it's going to be a wild conversation. I know that.
I think the main thing that I see in reality right now is that people are actually starting to really open up to the world and understanding that we live in a sea of spirits, and they're there ready to help us and to communicate with us and to guide us on our paths in life. So you've been doing that with people for quite a while. What led you first to take intuition and spiritual communication seriously?
[00:01:30] Speaker B: I think for. For most people, I was just like anybody else. I kind of got to midlife, and I had a checklist of things that I thought I was supposed to accomplish. You know, go to school, get a good job, find a partner, buy a nice house, move to the suburbs, whatever you. Whatever that looks like for you and for me. I got there and went, hmm, apparently this formula did not result in happiness. I don't know what I'm supposed to be doing now. I checked everything off the list. I, um, I'm pretty sure the. The formula actually was to give parental units some satisfaction that their kid wasn't going to screw up life or, you know, need a big loan.
So for me then I started asking questions, you know, what.
What am I here for? Is there something more?
Am I being greedy for wanting more? You know, I had a pretty good life, and that led me to ask the question, do I have a guide? And from there, it's been a roller coaster.
[00:02:24] Speaker A: How did they first make contact with you? I mean, what was that like for you?
[00:02:28] Speaker B: The first experience was pretty mundane. I literally just asked the question, do I have a guide? And I hadn't really. I hadn't really thought about it before. I'd heard of people having spirit guides. I kind of thought that was for special people, which I didn't see myself as. I was just a regular gal living on a regular life, and it turns out they're for everybody. And so that experience was pretty eye opening. And then. And then it got really deep, really fast.
[00:02:55] Speaker A: So, yeah, I think a lot of us think we're really ordinary until we get touched by the spiritual and supernatural, and that's actually the normal. And that's what my podcast is all about.
So when did your guys begin calling you Sia? And what did that name mean to you at the time?
[00:03:14] Speaker B: At. Almost immediately.
And I thought it was weird because I didn't see myself as a seer. I know that's a mouthful, but I didn't see myself as having precognitive capabilities or, I don't know, maybe. Maybe vision to a degree. I think I'm pretty good at seeing people and understanding, you know, what. What their motivations are. But I kind of think it's a little funny to me. I'm not. I'm not a guru, and I know a lot of people like to call themselves Cyr, and I'm like, it's a joke to me. But that's what they insist on calling me. So that's what we go.
[00:03:48] Speaker A: That's excellent.
Was there a specific experience that changed how you understood your own intuition and how that works for you?
[00:03:57] Speaker B: That's a good question.
I can't think of a particular moment. It kind of evolved quickly from the first conversations.
It became, okay, well, I don't think I'm special, and I obviously don't have a guide. And then suddenly I have a guide. Well, maybe that means I have some kind of calling or. Or some sort of service that I'm supposed to perform. Like, what does this mean now? Is this an assignment?
Uh, so there became a lot of. A lot of investigation of what. What was that about?
Uh, what are they here for? What am. What am I here for? And that led to basically the mad spiritual scientist routine, which was me thinking, you know, this is kind of cool. And what if everyone could have this?
How could I make this accessible to anyone? So that's what ultimately led me down this process of trial and error. Trial and error. Kind of put it into a lab environment and say, can we, you know, we start with the hypothesis and then we test it and we observe and then, you know, we repeat and so on and so forth until I got it down to a system that so far has pretty much worked for everyone, which is, I don't know. I think it's Pretty cool. I'd like to get the world just a little bit happier place. And I think if people had a little bit more guidance and a little bit more confidence in self and just felt maybe just a tiny bit more purpose, we might have a little bit more community and a little less angst in the world.
[00:05:24] Speaker A: Yeah, well, you're extending the community from just us to all the way through the spirit realm, so. Yes, that's a powerful thing. Yeah. Yeah. I'm curious, though. What actually drove you to have that scientific edge? Did you have a background in science previous to that or.
[00:05:41] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. I'm like a semester shy of an electrical engineering degree. That didn't end up being where I. Where I focused, but I kind of had that sort of a logical mind.
I'm like, I like to test things. I like to play with things. I like to poke at them and come up with theories. So that. That just fit my style. I'm pretty logical, which I think is confusing to people because they think spiritual person, obviously, she's in the clouds.
[00:06:06] Speaker A: She's super grounded, but she's weird.
[00:06:08] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. She's super woo. She says a lot of strange things. We don't know what's gonna come out of her mouth. No, I'm actually quite logical. So it's kind of a weird mix, which I think, like you said, makes it a little bit more accessible to more people.
[00:06:21] Speaker A: Yeah. I think that sort of edge grounds it for a lot of people because they want to, you know, just assume that you're like a loopy hippie, but then you've got.
You know what I mean? Right. And so by having that groundedness, they. They feel safer to actually listen and understand and grasp the concepts.
[00:06:40] Speaker B: Right. Yeah. I feel like the. The spiritual industry has a lot of guru talk and a little bit of arrogance, maybe, where you've got a lot of individuals saying, you know what? I know something you don't know. And it's like, what are we, five? Are we gonna. Are we gonna share the magic or are we gonna sit over here and go, hey, cj. If you just believe harder your talk to you.
And then it's kind of like us and them and.
Nah, no, none of that. I just think it's cool and I'd like to share it with the world. That's kind of my goal.
[00:07:12] Speaker A: I just think that's a stage that people go through when they start to experience phenomena. They're like, oh, no, I'm special.
No, you're not. Everyone does that.
[00:07:21] Speaker B: Right, right. And then your head Gets big.
[00:07:24] Speaker A: Yeah, but we're all able to do this stuff. It's just a matter of tuning in. And you're proving that by working with people and showing them how.
[00:07:30] Speaker B: Right? And I love the idea of telling people, I'm not a guru.
Don't trust me, bro.
Whatever I say is not go.
This is your game. You get in, you test it, you experiment, you see what happens. I love the skeptics. They're a lot of fun because they jump in and they're like, this is ridiculous. And then three days later, they're like, whoa, that's pretty cool.
So, you know, it's. It's. It's. It's fun. It's fun to see people's eyes open to the idea that this isn't that complicated. You just.
At this point, I believe, firmly, you don't need a special set of tools. You just need to follow a process that makes sense, and we'll get you there. We'll get you that magic moment.
[00:08:16] Speaker A: Nice.
What did you personally have to question or unlearn before trusting your own spiritual experiences?
[00:08:24] Speaker B: Mmm.
Literally everything, cj. Literally everything. One of the first things that my guides told me was, your life as you know it is over.
And so cute Cindy was like, sweet, My ship's comedy, right? I've won the lottery. No, what they meant was, we're going to tear your literal life to the ground and then rebuild.
And my calling is to bring this to other people so that they can access their guides as well. So. But it required all the sacrifices. Literally everything.
So that was an interesting journey. But I can. At the time, you don't see it. You can't see the whole.
It's like you're taking a flight from Seattle to London and you can't see every turn and the plane is off course like, 90% of the trip. Kind of just keep course correcting. I couldn't see the whole map. I had no idea we were going to London. Literally none.
But now I see it in reverse. Okay. This is what we had to go through. So.
[00:09:27] Speaker A: Wow. Yeah. Would you have dug in if you knew what the result was going to be?
[00:09:33] Speaker B: That's a great question. I mean, some of the early stuff, it was. It was change almost every major aspect of my life. My relationship, my business, everything I thought my life was built around.
But I think now I see it. I get it. You know, us humans were very simple. We see Path A looks like a good thing. You know, you lose a job and you go, that's a bad thing. Right?
Well, is it maybe sometimes to get a better job, you have to lose a job. You know, sometimes to get the better relationship, you have to go through an ugly divorce, that kind of thing. So I think I would do it again, but, boy, it's a process for sure. So I don't think that's normal either. I don't mean to imply that, you know, hey, meet your spirit guide and your life's gonna get flip. Turned upside down. I don't. I don't think that's true. I just think that was my path.
[00:10:23] Speaker A: Yeah. Different for everyone, for sure.
[00:10:25] Speaker B: Yes. Yeah.
[00:10:26] Speaker A: How is your understanding of purpose changed throughout your life?
[00:10:30] Speaker B: That's a great question. Also, very dramatically, I think.
I think, for myself, a purpose was, you know, meet a few goals and build some stability in life and try to have a good time.
Now, purpose is so much bigger than that. You know, I used to. I've been an entrepreneur for, I don't know, 25 years, and there was a time when my life's focus was make money, and now my life's focus is make a difference. So I think that's probably the biggest thing. It's just a complete shift in, you know, you get older and you start to care about other people a little more and see the world. And at least for me, that's the way it went. So big change in purpose.
[00:11:12] Speaker A: I can relate to that, too. It's like, over time, I just want to make sure the world gets better.
It's just what happens, I think, when you grow up.
[00:11:22] Speaker B: Well, I don't know about that. I mean, I don't know that I go that far. I don't really want to grow up, C.J.
[00:11:26] Speaker A: okay. Well, you got to keep playing there, you know?
[00:11:29] Speaker B: Right. And actually, that's part of a. Part of my system is very much a. Let's play. Let's just, you know, let's get in the lab, we'll break some stuff, we're going to mix up some chemicals, bust a beaker, Something crazy is going to happen. There's no metrics for success, which, you know, we get really obsessed with that stuff. It's just, show up, have a good time, embrace your inner child and see what comes out.
[00:11:54] Speaker A: What, for you, makes an intuitive experience feel more meaningful rather than random?
[00:12:00] Speaker B: I think the personalization element of it, where you're getting guidance that feels very relevant to you personally, as opposed to, you know, a fortune cookie kind of guidance that is like, you know, go learn something. Go learn a new skill. No, what about learning a skill that's relevant to what you're doing in your world. So I think, I like to say for decision making in specific, I think that we have all kinds of people in our lives that we consider counselors, trusted advisors, you know, the wife, the husband, mom, dad, sister, brother, best friend.
And when they provide advice to us in general, they have their idea, you know, our best interest at heart. But it's always coming through their lens. Right. They have their own belief systems, their own needs. They have things they need from you, they have things they want from you.
The spirit guide is, is the only person not on the planet because they're not on the planet, but they're the only person that really, truly is looking at just you. So the lens is shifted. And I think that's a really powerful thing, being able to make decisions based on information that really is just unbiased. We can't get that anywhere else.
[00:13:17] Speaker A: How can someone test spiritual guidance without dismissing mystery or forcing certainty?
[00:13:24] Speaker B: Without dismissing mystery or forcing certainty, yeah.
[00:13:28] Speaker A: So checking in on their deep spiritual guidance, whether it's actually on path, really on path, yeah.
[00:13:36] Speaker B: Well, I do have a process, I call it the star method for helping people differentiate between messages that are internal. Is it my ego speaking, is it my mind speaking versus is it intuition, or is it my guide actually passing a message?
So for me, I think one of the big things that I teach my students is trust, and trust being a two way street between you and your guide. Not just did the guide give me good information and I followed it and got the result I was hoping for, but vice versa. If the guide is giving you advice, are you willing to actually step out of your comfort zone? Not cross the boundaries, not go outside of your belief system, but are you willing to step outside of your comfort zone and do what they might be asking of you?
[00:14:25] Speaker A: What would be the first step for someone who wants to connect with a spiritual guide?
[00:14:31] Speaker B: Well, my process starts with something that's pretty normal, I think is probably fairly standard across the industry, which is quieting, quieting the noise, quieting the central nervous system getting grounded.
You know, turning off the phones, turning off the beeping in the background, the TVs.
We have so much, so much going on right now in our world that it's difficult to hear. You know, like you said, the guide's talking. The question isn't really whether they're talking, it's whether you can hear them.
So we start with, you know, basic stuff. We do some visualizations, we do some meditation.
We just try to check out a little bit from the, the electronic world and let ourselves be quiet enough to be able to hear.
[00:15:18] Speaker A: Do you have any communication protocols that help people receive clearer guidance?
[00:15:24] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, absolutely. I have something that I call a fingerprint signature where I teach my students to tune into how their body responds when they're receiving a download or when they're receiving a message from their guide.
So it's typically a body. It's one area of your body that you'll typically feel something tangible when you're actually getting a message. Maybe it's a tingling in your head or a warmth in your heart, or it could be literally anything.
And teaching people to recognize that as being associated with their guide so that they can start to differentiate between, hey, was that my imagination or was it a voice in my head? And now I probably should see someone about that.
[00:16:12] Speaker A: Yeah, right, right.
So what simple practices can listeners try today?
[00:16:19] Speaker B: I think getting quiet, I mean, I want to say, you know, meditation is pretty much a standard formula.
I would like to say grounding is one of my big practices. And when I say grounding, I mean literal grounding. I mean literally take your shoes off and put your feet on the soil.
Get in touch with that, that resonance of the earth, the actual vibration of the earth. I don't think we do that enough anymore. We live in concrete jungles, you know, and maybe it's not even, maybe where you live, it's not even safe to take your shoes off unless you're in the comfort of your own backyard. Right.
So that's one of the first things. The electrical energy of guidance literally comes through the earth. So that's a really important one. I mean, there's a reason that tree huggers are a thing, right?
[00:17:06] Speaker A: Yes.
So spiritual communication is like a muscle that needs to be exercised and built up over time.
How much time typically does a person need to build that to get consistent communication that's effective? And is that the same for everyone? Did you find over time, or is that something that's very linked to the individual?
[00:17:28] Speaker B: Well, I think there's, there's kind of two parts to that. Uh, the way I run my programs. I used to start with like a 12 week coaching program, kind of an extended thing. And I realized that people don't have the patience for that. That's just not the modern world people want. Quick, give me, give me, give me results right now.
So what I do is I have a couple of different ways that I do it, but basically I do a five day process, five half hour sessions on day zero.
You maybe don't even believe A spirit guide is a thing, much less that you have one on day five, you've made connection with your guide. You can ask your question and get an immediate clear answer to that question.
Now does that mean you can sit down and have a conversation with your guide like you and I are having? No, of course not. It's just that first proof of life, so to speak, where you've got, hey, this is real. I've got a connection and I know how to work with it. And then from there, I think that's probably at the point where everybody's going to kind of go at their own pace. And I mean, honestly, some people get excited and go busting in after that, that first experience, and other people go, whoa, I'm going to go ahead and think about that for a while.
Right?
[00:18:44] Speaker A: They've got to integrate it.
[00:18:45] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Because it is a lot. Right? And then you ask, well, what, what, what should I ask?
Yeah, literally anything.
You know, my first question was, was there a second shooter on the grassy knoll?
And my guide said, yeah, that's not the kind of stuff we're going to talk about.
We got, we've got other things to do. And I was like, okay, fine.
[00:19:09] Speaker A: Yeah, I can imagine that we're not here for that.
[00:19:10] Speaker B: Yeah, that's, that's not, that's not what this game is. But you know, it's like, it's like being a four year old again. You just walk around going, why, why, why, why, why? And oh my God, I have someone that of someone that actually in theory has the universe of knowledge in their, in their arsenal.
[00:19:29] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:19:29] Speaker B: Oh boy, we better start writing because I'm going to forget. I'm going to forget all these questions.
[00:19:35] Speaker A: Yeah, that's cool.
What should someone do when they receive no clear answer?
[00:19:42] Speaker B: Well, in my, in my programs we talk about how to address that.
Usually it's.
You're not sitting in the moment. You know, if you're, we say, okay, yeah, I'm sitting here and I'm, I'm ready and I'm, I'm calm and I want to talk to my guide.
Are you really?
So if you're not getting a clear answer, it's typically just either, you know, we'll do a quick reset, maybe do like a quick two minute, you know, visualization, meditation kind of thing and try again. And if not, it's just not the right time. You know, it's, it's not always, it's not always the right time. If you think about your personal life, sometimes you just have a Headache. And the answer is no, honey.
[00:20:23] Speaker A: Do you encourage people to record or measure their experiences in a way that helps them identify patterns over time?
[00:20:32] Speaker B: That isn't something that I've integrated into my program, but that's an interesting idea. I like it. How would that.
How would that go, do you think?
[00:20:40] Speaker A: I think something, you know, like creating, like, a dictionary of connection so then you know what happened at that time. And then over time, you can go, okay, well, this happened this way. And then you can build up a structure to that. I mean, I do that with, like, dream journaling myself.
[00:20:54] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:20:54] Speaker A: Because I see patterns that.
And motifs that are. That are metaphors that come up quite often. So I think that might actually be a way of enhancing that connection.
[00:21:04] Speaker B: I like it. And are those personalized?
That dictionary?
[00:21:08] Speaker A: Personalized? Very personalized. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:21:10] Speaker B: So it wouldn't be like, oh, if I had this situation, then that would mean cj, Butterfly means east.
[00:21:15] Speaker A: No, it doesn't.
[00:21:16] Speaker B: Got it.
[00:21:16] Speaker A: Got it for everyone.
[00:21:18] Speaker B: Yeah, that's. That's a good idea. That is. That is something that I should probably incorporate into my more advanced courses for students that are ready to go deeper. So.
[00:21:26] Speaker A: Right.
[00:21:26] Speaker B: I'll put that down. I'll call that. I'll call that the CJ technique.
[00:21:29] Speaker A: Thank you. I'm glad to help by accident. Thank you.
[00:21:32] Speaker B: That's a great idea.
[00:21:34] Speaker A: Now, what do you suggest people evaluate whether guidance is helping them make better decisions?
[00:21:40] Speaker B: Oh, that's a great question.
Better decisions is such an interesting concept.
What I think is that when we make decisions, the confidence that we feel about that decision is ultimately everything.
So if you say, hey, Cindy, I'm thinking about starting some kind of new business, and you ask, well, should I do that? You ask your guide. Your guide says, yeah, it's a good idea. Go for it. If you feel confident in your guide, then you're going to pursue the outcome that you want from that decision. Right. You're going to be all in. You're going to be like, okay, this is what we do first. We put together a business plan. You go find funding. You get, you know, however that's going to go for you if you say, well, I'm not. I'm not too sure about that. There's a good chance that you won't follow through or you'll delay responding to people or you won't take the steps that are needed. So I think the biggest thing is about confidence. So if you can get a connection with your guide and feel comfortable that they're leading you in a direction that's in your own best interest.
Then every decision you make starts to feel a little bit more confident, and then you jump in full stream and voila, it works. Right?
[00:23:04] Speaker A: Are there any common mistakes that can make spiritual communication feel confusing or unreliable?
[00:23:13] Speaker B: That's an excellent question.
I think maybe right now, what we see a lot of in the industry is the signs and synchronicities type of spirit guide communication, which to me, is insanely confusing.
So I asked the universe, hey, give me a sign. Same scenario. Should I leave this job that I'm in, and a week later, I get a feather on my car.
Great, I got a sign.
What does the feather on the car mean?
Does it mean.
[00:23:50] Speaker A: Yeah, right.
[00:23:51] Speaker B: Does it mean take the job? Does it mean don't take the job? Does it mean that a crow just flew by and dropped a feather on your car?
I don't know. And that. That's one of the things that drove me this direction was, it's so confusing. I mean, Great, I saw 11. 11 on the clock. Something happened. I don't know what. I don't know what it means. But, you know, it's like, it's. It's. That's proof of. That's proof of a guide's existence. But you can't call that communication. It's just not.
[00:24:21] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:24:21] Speaker B: So that's the big thing is, like, just bridge the gap.
Why can't we just have a conversation? Why can't it be just like you and I sitting here talking?
[00:24:30] Speaker A: Exactly.
Yeah. And. Well, it can be. We know that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, I was in a car the other day listening to a podcast on giants, and one drove past me with a number plate that said Yeti. And I was like, come on.
[00:24:42] Speaker B: Right, right, right. Well, that's a little clearer than the feather, for sure. But, yeah, I thought, that's just weird.
[00:24:49] Speaker A: But the way life is sometimes, why can successful, successful, capable women still feel disconnected from their purpose?
[00:24:59] Speaker B: Well, I try not to be the person that tells everyone what's going on in their world. I think that's a question for them to ask themselves. For sure. But I do think women in particular, I think, spend much of their lives serving needs of everyone around them as opposed to themselves.
And I think there's a point in the average woman's life where you hit your, you know, 40s, 50s, if you've got kids, maybe they leave home. You kind of, you know, you've got financial security.
Maybe you're starting to worry about your parents aging, and there's questions. You start to have questions about, like, is this is all I'm here for, is to serve the kids or the husband or the parents or whomever it is, and why am. Why am I doing that? And I think there's definitely questions that come up there just from a, like, life standpoint, life transition, stage standpoint.
And that's when I think a lot of people start wondering, am I. Who am I serving? And what does that mean? And so having a little bit of external input on that in the form of a guide can be really reassuring.
Like, you know, I'd. I'd really like to know that I'm needed outside of when the kids need to go to the store or my husband needs dinner or that kind of thing.
So I think that's a really common phase of life. I find that repeatedly, that's who most of my clients are, because they're in a stage where they're. Suddenly life starts to get quiet enough that they can ask important questions about who they are and what they're here for.
[00:26:42] Speaker A: Yeah. Getting past the. Is this all there is?
[00:26:46] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:26:49] Speaker A: What questions can someone ask when life looks fine on the outside but feels empty within?
[00:26:56] Speaker B: That was my big question, for sure.
That's the point, right? I mean, I think we.
I think a lot of us get there this point in life where we're just wondering, you know, what. What is it all about? What was the purpose of it? Was it really to build the life that looks good on Facebook?
And that's. That's the point where I think people can start to look at themselves and say, what do I want? What do I actually want for my life? Not what was I told to do? Or what was the responsible thing, or what did I need to do for.
To support the wife and kids? Or, you know, that. That question of what. What's important to me? And. And that's hard when you haven't done it. You know, when you've spent 45 or 50 years of your life serving other people's needs, it's a hard question. You know, people will say, when do I get to. When do I get to be the star of my own life? And the question then is, if you had no limits on time or money, what would you do with your life?
And a lot of people can't answer that question. Right. They'll come back and tell you, well, I don't want this, and I don't want that, and I don't want that.
So I would say using the guide, not necessarily to find your purpose, but to find a way of living in the day that makes you feel like you have purpose. So as opposed to this big I have a calling kind of purpose. Just what would make today feel purposeful? What could I do today that would feel good to me and feel like authentically me in a way that would make me happy?
[00:28:32] Speaker A: Exactly. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:28:35] Speaker B: And then the guide can help you with that. It's like, you don't have to ask your guide is my purpose thing. X.
What about just what, what could I do today that would feel good?
[00:28:46] Speaker A: How can someone take a first practical step towards that more meaningful life? I mean, is that what you're explaining there?
[00:28:52] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, I honestly think that's the right answer because it was for me. And if people think there's a different answer, then awesome, go find that one. But yeah, I think the spirit guide is just a natural evolution of that self exploration and the what am I doing here? What am I doing?
[00:29:12] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
How can people use spiritual guidance without giving away responsibility for their choices?
[00:29:20] Speaker B: I love this question.
So a spirit guide is, to me, in my definition, is an advisor. They're not a master. Right. The decisions are yours. You own them.
But they do, they can provide that guidance for you.
And I think that don't give away agency. I mean, don't blindly trust. Just like I don't want anyone to blindly trust what I say, I don't want them to blindly trust what their guide says either. You know, this is the trust thing that has to be developed. One of the things I do in my, in my courses is I tell people, okay, you got, you've got this really big question you've been dying to ask, right? And everybody says, yeah. And I say, all right, great, don't ask that. We're not there yet. You don't get to ask that question for a couple months at least because you don't have the trust. Even if, even if your guide said, oh, yeah, go, go, go, take the new job, you'd be like, too much. So it takes time. Just like any relationship. Just like any conversation that you have with a new friend or a colleague you don't trust is earned by everyone, right? You don't just give it.
[00:30:26] Speaker A: How should someone respond when inner guidance conflicts with that advice from family, colleagues or friends?
[00:30:33] Speaker B: Well, that's an interesting question, right? I mean, I think that kind of goes back to the family, Friends and colleagues maybe have a slightly different viewpoint. But I think that's, you know, that's a normal life question. Right? We have to decide all the time, do we Want to do what everyone else wants us to do or do we want to do what we think is the right thing to do?
[00:30:54] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
Do you have any safeguards that you recommend before making a major decision based on spiritual guidance?
[00:31:04] Speaker B: The trust. Yeah, the trust. I mean, we definitely do safeguards also with our spiritual guidance to make sure that we're making the connection to the right thing. But yeah, trust first.
Don't go into it thinking, you know, on day three, you're going to be asking all of the big life questions.
We start small. I ask simple things like, you know, should I go for a walk right now? Is my cat's name you know, Fluffy? That kind of stuff to build that trust because it really is so important.
[00:31:36] Speaker A: How can people become more comfortable with uncertainty while waiting for clarity?
[00:31:42] Speaker B: Hmm, that's a good question.
Comfortable with uncertainty.
Well, I mean, I honestly feel like the concept of what I'm doing is trying to minimize that uncertainty, to take away ambiguity. So at least giving an immediate answer on this topic that we're talking about right now in a way that is undeniably clear.
So if you're again, back to the signs and synchronicities stuff, that's tough. So that's literally the basis for my whole system is to try to create clarity so that you don't have to guess. Because otherwise, like you said, you're stuck in uncertainty.
And then what? Do you try harder or do you give up?
We're working towards the get what you want out of the thing. So yeah.
[00:32:37] Speaker A: So when people are going through transition and connecting with spirit communication, why do you think major life changes often bring spiritual questions to the surface?
[00:32:47] Speaker B: That's a good question. It's going to be obviously individual to the person. But I think, let me give you an example. I worked with a woman recently who, 88 year old woman whose husband had recently passed away and she just couldn't like wrap her head around what do I do now? He had had Alzheimer's and so she'd been caring for him and you know, she was a mother of four kids and had spent her whole life built around everyone around her. And then she wakes up one day and is like, what do I do? What's my purpose? What's my purpose?
And to be able to step into this concept of purposeful moments rather than what is my calling.
And after a few weeks of working with her, we really got to a point where the purpose was really being able to just connect with her, with herself, with her higher self. So here she's asking her Guide questions. She's got this connection.
And also she tells me that she loves watching television. That has no balls on it because her husband was a sports fan and she was never a sports fan.
So first time she said that to me, I was like, what?
Yeah, kind of. I was like, so, yeah, just. Just sort of changing up the. The. The tenor of your life. Right. When sometimes we. We say, I can't believe my life is about everyone else.
And then when you have the opportunity for it to not be about everyone else, you don't know what to do. It's like, this is what I asked for, but now what do I do with it?
So the. The guidance is. That's a. That's a perfect moment to have guidance.
[00:34:27] Speaker A: Yeah.
What can a person do when they know a chapter has ended but cannot yet see what comes next?
[00:34:36] Speaker B: Yeah, don't ask me, ask your guide.
It's the same answer. It's the same answer every time. Right. Like, I'm the Sherpa. I'll take you up the mountain. I'll show you where the crevasse is. I'll tell you if that weather that looks bad is actually going to be bad or if it's not, or we need to go back to base camp. But these are big questions. C.J.
call your guide.
Call your guide. See what they have to say about it. Because I'm just a normal human trying to help you get to the real advice.
[00:35:06] Speaker A: Nice.
How can someone separate genuine guidance from fear that often accompanies a new beginning?
[00:35:13] Speaker B: Great question. Yeah, I love this question.
We talk about body feelings. There's different parts of the body that will help you indicate whether or not guidance is coming from an ego or coming from fear or coming from external. So that's back to the fingerprint signature that I think I mentioned earlier, the feeling in your body. So, for instance, a couple of the things that would be indicators that the information is your own fear would be a sensation in your jaw or your throat, or if it's in your shoulders, kind of a heavy feeling. Those tend to be internal signs versus, you know, if you had a feeling in your gut or a lightness in your head.
Often there's the body. Actually, it's like a tuning fork. Right. So it's going to give you an indication of messages that you're getting or information that you're receiving, and it will help you find the source. So I do have a system to help, you know, like an actual map of the body that shows which parts are likely to be indicated by fear or Ego versus the guide.
[00:36:19] Speaker A: Interesting. Do you, have you checked that map against any other systems to see if there's any correlation?
[00:36:26] Speaker B: I've definitely. It's definitely science based. You know, it's, it's built on a lot of neuroscience, but I don't know that I've seen anything quite like it. So do you have a suggestion of something that would be. Potential comparison?
[00:36:39] Speaker A: It just popped in my head. Is this related to like Chinese medicine and the meridians or anything like that?
[00:36:45] Speaker B: Yeah, like maybe reflexology or something of that nature? Yeah, yeah, I'm sure that there's some correlation there. And I'll be 100% honest. I channeled it. So I trust, I trust my guide. So if I, if I'm getting that information, I feel confident that it's, that it's correct. But as all things, test it for yourself. Let's experiment. Let's. Let's go to that lab, see how it works for you, and then, and then we'll draw the. Yeah, I pretend to be the. Yeah, don't pretend to be the, you know, the harbinger of all of the information in the world. That's. That's not me.
[00:37:20] Speaker A: Well, when you, when you were talking about, it just reminded me of a time that I had contact with a spirit that was doing a lot of work with me. And it was telling me by touching my, my back, my left back shoulder as a form of like telling me about things. And I'm like, oh, that's really interesting, you know, that you said the same thing. So I'm thinking that maybe there is some sort of correlation there too.
[00:37:41] Speaker B: There probably is. There probably is. I mean, I, I haven't talked to a lot of people that have similar experiences, but I've heard someone told me the other day that they had different messages on different ears and they perceived one to be positive and negative. And I was like, I don't really believe in negative, but I hear you. Like, that's an interesting experience and it's, it's worth taking into the lab and poking at it a little bit and see can we recreate that, what's happening here?
[00:38:11] Speaker A: Well, in some religions they say there's like an angel on one side and a devil on the other side.
[00:38:15] Speaker B: Right, right, right.
[00:38:16] Speaker A: I mean, that's not surprising, really.
[00:38:18] Speaker B: Or it could have been just a really good ayahuasca trip. I don't know about that.
Not. Not my thing. But for some, that's, that's part of it, so.
[00:38:26] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah.
What kinds of limiting stories often prevent people from Trusting themselves.
[00:38:34] Speaker B: That is a big, big can of worms right there.
Yeah, I mean, I, I think it's people. We just. We're just not good at trusting ourselves. We'll trust, you know, we'll trust, you know, some random dude on Amazon that says, don't buy this blender. Right? But we'll sit there and have a conversation. We'll have a conversation with our guide or we'll get the, the. The yeti license plate that's so obvious and go. And now that was nothing but, you
[00:39:00] Speaker A: know, or just maybe lawful.
[00:39:02] Speaker B: Whatever, whatever. Bad dad, 27 online. Suddenly he's the world's authority on what I need in. Or what I need in my life. Right?
I think it's. It's crazy how we won't trust ourselves.
[00:39:16] Speaker A: How can spiritual practice complement therapy, coaching, or other forms of personal support?
[00:39:24] Speaker B: No, I think they. I think they all work together. I think. I mean, exploration of self is exploration of self, right? I mean, everybody's going to go at it from a different angle, but I think all those things are great. I mean, there's no, I don't think there's any wrong in there. I think you might find a practitioner that wasn't the right fit for you. But I think those things are all go hand in hand. And, you know, if you're on the path of trying to improve yourself and, and live a better life, I think that all things can be. Can be wonderfully complimentary. My therapist didn't have a problem with my spirit guides.
Although maybe don't tell the psychiatrist that you hear voices because that can lead into some creepy places, right? Like we. The conversation with my, with my psychiatrist, like, did you really put that in my file? She says, yeah, I did. And I said, don't you go to church every Sunday? Yeah. And I said, so you talk to your God and he doesn't talk back?
I talk to my spirit guide and they talk back.
And I'm the crazy one.
Okay. I mean, you do, you. It's all good.
[00:40:36] Speaker A: What should someone do when spiritual work brings up painful memories or strong emotions?
[00:40:43] Speaker B: Well, strong emotions for sure, are important indicators, I think.
I think emotions get.
They get a bad rap, I think in the world. I think they're important. They're signs. They're information that we're getting from our higher selves. It's an internal system. It's just another internal system to help us gauge where we're at.
Trauma.
I personally have not done any trauma, like direct trauma discussion with my guides.
I think it might be the opposite so in therapy, right, for instance, you sit around and talk about the negative things that have happened to you, which means you get to relive them.
And I'm not really a big fan of that conceptually. So I'm more interested in solutions, I think, as my approach to spirit guides, both from what I do and what I teach, which is, okay, this is a challenge we're having. Let's work away from that rather than kind of digging into the tough stuff. Does that make sense?
[00:41:44] Speaker A: It does, yeah. Yeah.
What three minute practice can listeners use when they need clarity?
[00:41:51] Speaker B: A three minute practice for clarity? Yeah, definitely. I would go for any meditation. I recommend that beginners go for something that's a guided meditation. I think there's nothing more challenging for a beginner than to say, stop thinking three minutes. Feels like three hours. You know, that's not a. That's not possible. So a guided meditation, I would suggest, definitely.
But also, I love. I love getting out in nature again. Sit down on. Sit down and sit. Literally sit down in the grass. I mean, if you have grass that doesn't have, you know, creepy crawlies in it, sit down in the grass.
And then the other really wonderful grounding tool is water.
So whether you're in a shower or you're in a swimming pool, or you're in a lake, even if you're just waiting, water is a wonderful connector and it instantly calms the physical body, which allows you to, again, open up that hearing of the messages that might be wanting to come through.
[00:42:52] Speaker A: Now, when people do this sort of work, do you actually recommend they use any intentional practice to start their communication?
[00:43:02] Speaker B: Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. Yeah. We do some rituals where we invite the guide in and, you know, create a safe space for the guide and for the student to connect.
[00:43:13] Speaker A: Yeah, and what questions would someone write down before asking for guidance?
[00:43:20] Speaker B: I mean, it's a good idea to think about things that you're looking for information on. And like I said, I definitely start with the basics. I mean, we do simple stuff like, you know, is this my guide? Is that who I'm actually talking to?
Do you have my best interest at heart?
Is my name Francis?
Do I live in, you know, Tennessee? That. Some of that stuff again, building that communication trust in the beginning, definitely. We start. We start really basic. Like I said, if you got a big question, that's great. Hold it for a couple months.
[00:43:55] Speaker A: What role do dreams and emotional responses play in your process, do you mean?
I just want to know. Because, I mean, often when people connect to such spiritual methods that the dream World really lights up. So you're finding that with your students too?
[00:44:14] Speaker B: I haven't actually had a ton of questions in that arena.
If people come up with things again, I would direct them back to their guide and explore that. Certainly, if you're having interesting dreams, those are messages as well.
You obviously understand they come in a million different ways. And if you want to explore that, definitely get with your guide. But I haven't seen a ton of direct correlation where people are suddenly dreaming. I think.
I think a lot of the messages that we get in general are our guides are literally doing a dance going, how can I get C.J. to hear me? I'm jumping up and down over here, and I'm spinning in circles, and I'm like, I'm gonna throw something at you in your dreams, and I'm gonna throw something at you where you're, you know, falling asleep, and I'm gonna throw, you know, a strange yeti license plate at you and I there. I feel like they're kind of desperately, desperately seeking attention.
And so once we give them an. A clean avenue to start sending those message messages, then they start to come exactly in the way that we're looking for them.
Does that make sense? It's like we. It's like you've given them a path. We've given them a new pathway. And I feel like almost always with my students, their guides are like, thank God you are finally listening to me, because I am so tired of telling you to stop doing that one stupid thing that you do all the time. You know?
[00:45:41] Speaker A: Yeah, we're simple.
[00:45:43] Speaker B: Humans were simple. Like, wait, yeah, well, yeah, we're gonna make that mistake a hundred times. I know you told me the stove was hot, but I'm gonna have to put my hand on it. And it might be more than once.
[00:45:52] Speaker A: It might be not hot this time.
How can listeners and your students know when to pause spiritual questioning and take practical action?
[00:46:04] Speaker B: Oh, that's a great question.
Immediately. I mean, like, anything, right? You get the. You get an idea, and the best time to act on it is right now. What's the best time to plant a tree 10 years ago, but today will work too.
Yeah. I definitely think that just as a general life rule, taking. Taking action immediately. Once you've got the. The comfort that trust with your guide, and if the information resonates for you in a way that makes sense, that you think, yeah, that would be a good move. Even if it's a little outside of your comfort zone, as long as it's not pushing your boundaries or your belief systems. Yeah, now. Now is the good time.
[00:46:45] Speaker A: Can you explain any results that your clients have reported after using your method? I mean, do you have any experience type examples where they've. Life has changed quite dramatically for the positive, for example?
[00:47:02] Speaker B: Yeah, I think, I think you get ultimately just a level of comfort that people stop.
They stop obsessing about every minute of every day of their life and start just living it right. They say if you're anxious, you're living in the future, and if you're depressed, you're living in the past. And if you're happy, you're literally living in the present moment.
And I think that's the biggest example. So you get students that.
I've had so many interesting students. Let's see if I can give you one specific one.
One of my favorites is one of my students called. Her name was Valerie.
She got so excited when she found out that her guide.
There was a big difference between when her guide says yes and when her guide says hell yes, and why have we waited so long to make this decision? So, you know, and it's the thing is she. The question she was asking was literally the one of my examples, which is the, should I take. Should I take a new job? Is it time to leave this job? And she kind of knew it. Of course she knew that she. It was the time to do it. But once her guide helped her make that decision and feel more confident in it, she made the change and was like.
Like we do a lot of times in life. The only regret I have is that I didn't do it sooner. But the difference was she'd been sitting on this conceptually for three years and the misery of the job, it wasn't worth it. So, you know, then Valerie ends up in the new job and again comes back to me and says, why didn't I meet you years ago? So then you could have met, you could have helped me, introduce me to my guide years ago and then I could have made this decision years ago and so on and so forth. Right, of course, yes. It's my fault for, for not, I don't know, spending more money in advertising or something so that more people knew that I existed.
[00:48:57] Speaker A: There's so many things that I've discovered over time. And yeah, I. Looking back, hindsight's always 20 20, so you just, you just wish you had all that knowledge. But, you know, things seem to turn up at the right time, you know, when it's necessary.
[00:49:10] Speaker B: So when you're ready.
[00:49:11] Speaker A: Yeah, that's right. When it's appropriate.
What inspired you to create Soul Piffany?
[00:49:18] Speaker B: I mean, my guide.
Is there any other answer? Yeah, I mean, that, that's, that's literally what it came down to. Is. Is this. Is this is what you're here for? I thought I was just here to. You know, I think of life a little bit like a party. You show up, you hang out, you have a good time, and when you're tired, you go home.
Nope, that's not actually the way it is.
Or at least not for. At least not for me, it turns out. So.
But yeah, just.
I want to help people. I want to.
I want to make a difference in the world, whatever that means. Even if it's just, you know, one person at a time.
[00:49:53] Speaker A: Who benefits most from your programs and teachings,
[00:49:58] Speaker B: like the identity of the individual?
I don't think there's anyone that couldn't benefit, but I definitely lean my teachings towards midlife women.
I think people that are highly driven find this particularly interesting because they kind of have lived the checkbox experience where they've done a lot of things. People that are very accomplished that to the outside world look like they had this great life and maybe aren't really feeling that way inside.
[00:50:31] Speaker A: What do you hope changes when more women begin leading from soul aligned values?
[00:50:37] Speaker B: I think we just have more harmony in the world. I think if people are.
In my experience, when people are content with themselves, they're kinder and they're more open and they're more.
I don't know if generous is the right word, but they're more accommodating of other people and their different beliefs. And I don't know, it just feels like the world is so filled with conflict. If people were less.
If people were happier, I think they would be less likely to be spending time saying, you're not doing it right. I don't like the way you do this, I don't like the way you do that. Do it my way. I think then you're focused on yourself. Right?
[00:51:14] Speaker A: That's a good thing.
What question do you wish more people would ask their own spirit guides?
[00:51:22] Speaker B: I think it's, you know, you brought up therapy earlier, and I would say it's the same kind of thing about therapy.
I find myself, at one point when I was in therapy, I found myself questioning my therapist about what do other people talk about?
And she's like, yeah, you're really weird. You don't ever talk about other people here. And I'm like, what do you mean? Well, people are so obsessed with what everyone.
My mom did this thing that bothered me. My sister did this thing that bothered me. My boss did this thing that bothered me. The spirit guide is the same as a therapist in a sense that do you want to try to fix everyone else in the world or do you want to try to fix the one thing that you might be able to control?
And I don't mean fix as in people are broken. I just mean, yeah, what could you actually impact change on?
I can't force anyone to do something different. So I think that again, some people would say, oh, that's selfish. Nah, that's not selfish. This is the put your own mask on before putting the mask on your child. You know, in the airplane thing, if you're not living your best life and you're not a comfortable, you're not comfortable with yourself, you're not, you know, living in a way that feels authentic, you're very unlikely to be able to positively impact other people.
[00:52:38] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, exactly.
What personal belief has changed most for you through your work?
[00:52:47] Speaker B: I think some of what I just touched on, I definitely have become. I mean, I've always been somebody that cares about other people, but I've become even more so to the point where I'm more excited about my students own success than my personal success. And maybe some of that's just age, but. Yeah, just seeing that we're all part of the same system. There's a oneness to the human species.
And we've been living so independently, I think, in the last 20, 30, 40 years. And it's, it shows in the world around us, you know, we're literally destroying the planet that we need to live on.
And we can't even agree. Yeah. And we can't even agree that that's actually a real thing.
And I think that's this idea that, that I can do whatever I want and it won't affect you, cj. And it's like, that's not true. It's not true. It doesn't matter where you live relative to me. It doesn't matter what part of the planet you're on. Everything we do affects everyone else.
[00:53:49] Speaker A: And then we have these tech bros running around saying it's just a simulation, which makes it all okay.
[00:53:53] Speaker B: Right, Right.
I guess. I guess.
Yeah. I mean, whatever gets you through the day, I suppose.
And they think we're weird.
[00:54:04] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly.
[00:54:05] Speaker B: Like really, we're in the Matrix. But you think I'm strange because I talked to a spirit guide.
[00:54:10] Speaker A: What's one question listeners can ask themselves before making their next important decision?
[00:54:17] Speaker B: I think feeling their way into the decision. I think we tend to get pretty. We can be really overly intellectual about the way we make decisions. Pros, pros and cons list kind of thing.
I think sometimes we do a really good job of discounting just the basic gut feeling. Like does it feel right? Does it truly feel right to you? I mean, we actually call it a gut feeling for a reason because it's literally a feeling in your gut. And I think we've gotten really disconnected from our own intuition.
Not even, not even talking spirit guides. Just does it make sense? And you know, we've all been there where we've ignored that. That instinct and then been really sorry about it.
[00:55:05] Speaker A: So, Cindy, we've come towards the end of the podcast. Where can listeners find more about your spirit guide and on speed dial and soulpiphany.
[00:55:15] Speaker B: Yeah, hop over to soulpiphany.com it's S O U L P I P H A N Y dot com. There's lots of information there. There's a lot of freebies. I actually will be running a a five day one on one challenge where we walk you from.
I don't believe I have a guide or I think this lady's crazy to on day five, ask your. Ask your question and get a direct answer and that's complimentary. So get you a quick win and see what this is all about and kind of jump in and play with it.
[00:55:52] Speaker A: I might have to sign up for that myself.
[00:55:54] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, it sounds like you've already got your connection, but if you're curious. Absolutely.
[00:55:58] Speaker A: Yeah, for sure. No, I'm always interested in tuning in even more. Thank you so much, Cindy, for all you're sharing today. Any wisdom and your understanding of a connection to spirit guides and how they can help people find a better path in life.
[00:56:14] Speaker B: This has been a blast. I appreciate you having me on cj.
[00:56:19] Speaker A: What a great episode with Cindy there.
Her understanding of the connection to spirit guides and how that can manifest in your own life.
She makes it sound so simple and I think that's the truth of it. It is simple and when you open yourself to it in a positive and conscious way, then things can change and give you a better path in life.
Thank you very much to Sydney for coming on again. That was really good.
